HRIMTraining.org was founded in 2006 by a group of graduate students pursuing their Master of Science in Hospitality Information Management at the University of Delaware. Under the leadership of Brian Miller, a professor in the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management at the University of Delaware, the students were assigned the task of creating a website that would contribute to bridging the gap between high-school students and the hospitality industry.

Brian holds a Doctorate of Education from the University of Massachusetts. Currently, he is on the faculty in the Department of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management at the University of Delaware. During his academic career, Brian has conducted research in the use of technology for education, training, and customer service in higher education, hotels and food service organizations. He has several published research articles regarding the use of technology to increase student learning and satisfaction in large-class lectures.
